Back in May during a trip to Japan, Donald Trump wished a group of sailors on a Japanese ship “Happy Memorial Day,” which was odd because during WW2 Japan caused thousands of American deaths.
Most people just chalked it up to one of Trump’s many gaffes.
I mean, the PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES surely knows his history, right?
Well, it looks like we know the answer now.
On Sunday when returning from Camp David Trump was asked about Poland, and the commemoration of the 80th anniversary of WW2. Trump cancelled his trip to Poland to stay stateside to monitor Hurricane Dorian instead. (Of course he went golfing.)
A reporter asked Trump if he had a message for Poland on the 80th anniversary of World War 2.
Trump responded, “I do have a great message for Poland & we have Mike Pence, our vice president, is just about landing right now…I just want to congratulate Poland.”
Does Trump know that Poland was invaded by Nazi Germany in 1939??
Twitter doesn’t think so:

Today Donald Trump congratulated Poland on what happened 80 years ago in WW2. He just congratulated Poland on getting smashed by the Nazis. 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
